Hi Product Hunt! I'm the maker of GPTwiki. Here's why I built it:
I've always loved Wikipedia, but I noticed a gap — when you want to learn about something, you often need to piece together information from multiple sources. What if AI could generate a well-structured wiki article from a single question, and that article could grow through community contributions?
That's GPTwiki. It combines the best of three worlds:
1. AI-powered content generation — Ask Claude, GPT-4o, or Gemini any question
2. Wikipedia-style knowledge sharing — Every answer becomes a permanent, searchable article
3. Community collaboration — Anyone can continue the conversation to expand articles
Some things I'm proud of:
- 100,000+ articles already seeded across 15 languages
- Users can bring their own API keys (no vendor lock-in)
- Fully open source under MIT license
- Built with Next.js 16, deployed on Google Cloud Run
I'd love to hear your feedback! What features would make this more useful for you? Drop a comment or open an issue on GitHub.
