Govava is an AI-powered gift discovery platform matching 800+ retailers (Amazon, Etsy, Rakuten, Walmart) to shoppers via persona-driven recommendations. Our flagship product, Ava, is a real-time conversational AI chatbot and voice concierge that chats with users about the recipient and instantly delivers personalized gift ideas—no generic browsing required. Govava is expanding into corporate gifting, helping HR and client-success teams source thoughtful gifts at scale.
Gift-giving is one of those things everyone struggles with but nobody talks about. I kept noticing the same pattern in my own life: I'd spend hours scrolling through Amazon, Etsy, random gift-guide articles, and still end up second-guessing myself right up until checkout. The problem wasn't a lack of options — it was the opposite. With millions of products across hundreds of retailers, "finding the right gift" had become a search problem disguised as an emotional one.
That's what got me building Govava. My first instinct was to solve it as a recommendation engine — plug in some persona keywords, match them against a product catalog, done. But the more I dug in, the more I realized good gifting isn't really about keywords, it's about understanding why a gift feels right for a specific person and moment. That pushed me toward layering in psychological and cultural frameworks — how people express identity, what motivates them — so recommendations felt personal instead of algorithmic.
The engine alone still felt like a search bar with better results. What actually changed things was building Ava, a conversational AI that talks to you the way a thoughtful friend would — asking about the person, not just checking boxes. That's when Govava stopped feeling like a shopping tool and started feeling like a gifting concierge. We're now extending that same approach into corporate gifting, where the same problem — thoughtful gifts, at scale — is even harder to solve manually.
