An ephemeral to-do list

@rrhoover New business model: make a to do list reflecting random social media and/or dating app. next up: To-Do Stories!

@rrhoover @thejeremycarson Digital log of everything you've done that day in photo form? Sign me up ✍

@thejeremycarson can you elaborate what you mean by random social media / dating app?

@rrhoover Month ago I was really impressed by the idea of Gone - and we decide to make an app for this - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/...

What's the intended consequence of the tasks expiring? I fail to see how it would make the user more compelled to add tasks as it provides less flexibility for the task list (can't have tasks that have a time horizon over a day) and to some extent removes the gratification of 'completing a task' since it may just have expired. Unless the 'timer' is showed to people in a ubiquitous fashion prompting them to act on the tasks, which it inherently cannot being a web app, I think I fail to see the advantage. I don't mean to sound overly critical, I'm just curious about the thoughts behind this.

@ubbedall Thanks for the feedback! I think the idea is to sit down in the morning, add a bunch of stuff that you'd like to get done for the day, and check them off one-by-one. I think it creates a sense of urgency and incentive to check stuff off before it disappears to be forgotten about.

@ubbedall @jsngr brilliant app @jsngr was looking for something like this, congrats on the launch

The whole point of a list of things to do is that they stay that way.

Pros:

Not tried it yet. I don't need more stress creators like this.

Cons:

I don't need a tool whose memory is worse than mine.

🤔
What if I told you, when you built a TO-DO App a puppy dies?
Zane Gocha
@_selcukahmet All puppies go to heaven tho right? --- Heck, I'm totally building one. I have had a to-do list on my to-do list for ages.
Chris Kalani
I built this 6 years ago: http://chriskalani.com/post/2617...

@chriskalani What happened? Maybe you can provide some insight for the Maker. Are you still pursuing the app?
Yuriy Shikhanovich
Love this idea. Any plans for mobile apps?
Jordan Singer
@uxiomatic If you have iOS, simply add to the homescreen from Safari and it will behave like an app!
Mayank Kaushik
@jsngr Really it is awesome, would love to have it on android. Can I implement it on android ??
Greg Garnhart
@jsngr @mapank You can! It's simply a web app (adding it to homescreen in iOS just bookmarks the page in app-icon form). I believe Chrome for android has an add to homescreen feature.

The 24 hr clock is really cool. No more backlogging tasks. Works well for me everyday! @jnsgr 🙌
