I have felt unsafe running later in the evening in certain areas, especially in winter when it's dark a lot earlier so I can see the reasoning and argument for this product. I wonder of the legality of it though? Carrying a concealed weapon could get people into trouble. Also, if startled by an innocent encounter - colliding with another runner / dog walker in error, could it be too tempting to use and cause someone serious injury as an instinct? It saddens me that there is a need for products like this, but as mentioned, I don't jog after dark when alone anymore so can understand why it's been created.
@nicholasjenson I agree on the punching angle, could be dangerous for the user. I also think that pepper spray could be more effective. Maybe combination of pepper spray with the portability and ease of use of Go Guarded could hit the right spot.
