I think this is great and am giving it a try as we speak!
One question — do you have plans for implementing options, like being able to hide the text portion of the label and just show the favicon — or vice-versa? I already use Gmail's native labels extensively to try to tame the influx of brand emails I receive and it starts to become a bit long-winded/semi-redundant to have two labels both spelling out the sender's brand name. Either way, well done & thanks!
fantastic concept...really loved it.
One suggestion, best part of gmail is that it uses very less colors. Thus relaxing experience with gmail. Colors are used only for important things like 'Important mail', 'star mail'. Similarly can you provide an option to convert the 'sender icons' into grayscale?
Interesting plugin. I suggest:
- Put the favicon next to sender's name
- Remove the company name next to favicon, it's redundant now that it's next to sender
@labnol@nash Yes, I use Google Apps and these would be my suggestions too... space in the inbox area is at a premium so simplifying this is key... I love it so far though Amit - great work.
Thank you for all the great feedback. I've pushed a new version that lets you toggle the display of domain name and favicon of emails senders inside Gmail. Here's how to access the new option.
@chuckkahn You don't have to click the menu bar icon. Just reload the Gmail website and you'll see the icons.

@labnol Oh, I was looking in the sender column for the icon. And I see it's more than an icon -- it's an icon and domain text. Can it just be the icon so that that we lose less of the message preview text?
