Hey everyone! My buddies and I are excited to have just launched this service! We wanted to take the concept of 'Reddit gold' and bring into the physical world.
Gildme lets you surprise another Reddit user with a message and a fun token (a plastic gold coin) in the mail!
@bramk We automatically notify the recipient (via a private message on Reddit) to let them know someone sent them gold. The recipient can then 'claim' the gold on our site by entering his/her address.
@misbahspeaks Let me know if you have any specific questions, but the basic vision was to see if there's any interest in people bringing gift-giving into the real world without giving away their address or even their real identity. If there is, we may want to offer other services in the future, and integrate with other social networks.
