I am scheduling 2 "Open AMA" calls on 1st Feb, so that I can brief you about the GigsBoard concept, and also give a very short Product demo. You can also ask any questions that you may have. Hi, My name is Sujith, and I am the Founder of GigsBoard. I am a Project Management Consultant by profession, and have been part of the IT Services industry for the past 30+ years. In 2014-15, I was doing IT Strategy Consulting in India & Middle-east, when Oil prices started crashing worldwide, and as a relatively new Consultant, all of my Contracts were terminated. But there were a lot of established Consultants who were asked to renegotiate their contracts at a significantly lower price, and were struggling. Since I had close to 20 years of complex Outsourcing experience, I offered to collaborate with some of the more established players on an Offshoring model, but unfortunately, my proposals were not accepted. So I started thinking about a platform for Outsourcing, and I started studying Freelancing in earnest. I realized that trust was the biggest shortcoming in the Freelancing environment, driven by the lack of transparency & control, and due to the prevalence of a lot of fraudulent players. I realized that if we needed to bring the agility of Freelancing into the Outsourcing space, I had to address the trust deficit. I also realized that any product that I built would need strong differentiators, to attract potential users. I had significant experience of "Crisis Red Projects' recovery" while working at my previous firms, and I decided that the product that I built should be able to prevent project failures to the greatest extent possible, and in case of failure, then provide the Users with an early warning of upcoming failure. So I worked for the next 1 year to develop the entire engagement model, and brainstorming with a variety of people - Industry leaders, Small/ Medium Business owners, Startup founders, Agency owners, Freelancers, etc - to develop a complete wireframe of the eventual product. The initial GigsBoard was the end result of this wireframe building, and this was further followed by a whole lot of iterative & incremental development to get to this current version which can really solve the trust, transparency, and clarity problems deeply prevalent in the freelancing space.
