tl;dr: from accidentally finding GIF.new domain is available to building a weird-ass tool that no one's ever used yet!
ahoy, everyone! the tl;dr is really all you need to know, everything else is what I'm hoping you get to experience on the tool directly.
but, if you're still interested in the story, here goes —
- the motivation to build this came from the availability of the domain
- but i steadily started to think through how much most onboarding, plain-text emails such
- combine that with my love for GIFs in general
- the idea of sending personalised GIFs in emails made more and more sense to me
vibe coded my way through things till this stage (using Cursor) and am still looking to get my first 10 paid users (or at least a couple 100 folks who've even remotely tried the tool).
