I'm excited to introduce GemSize 2.0 - a gemstone size simulator for anyone who's ever wondered, "How big is that stone actually going to look on my finger?"
Some years back, I created DiamDB, an in-depth size simulator for colorless diamonds. People found it useful and quite a few asked if I could make something similar for colored gemstones. So, here it is.
With GemSize, you can:
- Choose from 36 gemstones
- Play around with 33 colors and 13 different shapes
- Explore 468 different size charts
- Simulate gemstones on a ring and finger
- Compare two gems side by side
- See actual, real-world sizes
- Use it on pretty much any screen - phone, tablet, laptop, or monitor
- Adjust the ring and finger size to match your own
The actual-size part is probably the most useful feature. When you're shopping online, measurements like 8×6mm don't always tell you much. Seeing the stone at its actual size on a ring and finger gives you a much better feel for how big (or small) it's going to look.
One small note: For the actual-size feature to work correctly, GemSize needs to know the physical size of your screen (diagonal in inches). You can easily check on any page if it's set correctly and if not, you can enter the correct size manually. You can also adjust the ring and finger size to match your own.
