Hi Product Hunt!,
I'm a student who loves to code and experiment. When I added a third monitor to my laptop setup, I kept running into the same annoying problem: I'd be looking at one screen, but my typing would land in a window on another.
So I built Gander. It uses your webcam to tell which way your head is turned and moves keyboard focus to the window on the screen you're looking at. No clicking, and your pointer stays right where it was.
A few things I cared about:
- Private: everything runs on your computer. No video or images are saved or sent, and there's no account.
- Calm: a quick glance doesn't switch anything. You settle on a screen for a moment first, and you can adjust how long.
- Control: Focus Lock freezes switching with one shortcut, for when you want to read one screen and type on another.
It's a free early preview for Mac and Windows. I'd love to hear how it works with your setup and what would make it more useful to you!
Heads up: Gander isn't code-signed yet, so your computer will warn you the first time you open it. On Mac, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway". On Windows, click "More info", then "Run anyway". The steps are on the download page too.
