Young boys and men likely won't interact with products that look like feelings or reflection apps, but they will spend 20 minutes helping a friend figure out what to text back. Gameboi is built around that. You advise a fictional friend through something ambiguous -- a dry text, a situationship, a morning-after silence -- with built in reflection points that help the user think through their own related scenarios. At the end there's a quiet door to isthisok.app, if any of it felt close.

I run an organization called Override Labs. our main product is ito (isthisok.app) — an anonymous reflection tool for young men navigating ambiguous sexual situations. The research is clear that most harm happens between people who know each other, and the window to prevent it is before things escalate, not after.
The distribution problem I kept hitting: teen boys won't engage with something that looks like it's about their feelings. Through direct outreach, community channels, and paid social, I've found that the stigma barrier is just too high for a cold approach.
gameboi is built around the idea that a young boy or man could help a friend for hours think through ambiguous situations, without thinking of it as labor. You're advising Marcus or Dev, not examining yourself. The fictional distance does something the direct approach can't. And at the end of a round, if something in it landed, there's a soft door to ito. I built v1 of gameboi in a few hours, put $71 into reddit ads, got 2k visitors and 8 real ito submissions, so I do believe there's promise.
The underlying thesis is that entertainment earns trust that education can't buy, especially when the topic is sensitive and often immediately alienating.
