Hey Product Hunt! I'm Rick, a basketball dad that was trying to build a tool to help his son.
My son plays AAU basketball and was falling behind other kids who were developing faster between practices. When I looked for an app to help him, everything was built for adults with fixed difficulty tiers, no safety controls for growing bodies, no understanding of what a 10-year-old needs versus a 16-year-old.
So I built FutureChamp.
The app runs a 5-test fitness baseline, maps your kid's results to age-group percentiles (based on FITNESSGRAM/CDC norms), and generates workouts calibrated to their exact level. It adapts every session; no manual settings, no fixed tiers.
I care deeply about child safety, so I built in overtraining prevention that blocks (not warns) workouts when a kid has exceeded safe training volume for their age. If they report pain, exercises targeting those muscles are automatically removed. If they have games on the schedule, the entire training week restructures itself.
I filed a provisional patent, trademark, and copyright. This is a real product with real IP protection, built by a real parent solving a real problem.
It's completely free. No ads, no paywall, no data selling. COPPA compliant from day one.
I'd love your feedback — especially on the onboarding flow and the Coach Report Card feature. What am I missing? What would make you recommend this to a parent you know?
