Hey ProductHunt fam!
I'm Kenny and I'm based in Chicago.
I'm creating an entirely new asset class and I'd love for your support as I get this off the ground.
My Story: Former finance nerd at Merrill Lynch that somehow found my way into the world of franchising. I've written some franchising articles on Quora (sent to over 35 million readers) and have been featured on everything from Forbes to ABC for my thoughts on franchising. In total I've had a media reach on franchising to over 220 million people.
My first company was Semfia Franchise Brokerage. If you're wondering what a franchise brokerage is, it's like a realtor for the franchise world. I advise people on what the best franchises to buy are (*hint, hint* stay away from food franchises) and take commission from the parent company.
Over the years of being a franchise broker, I had a thought that I couldn't get rid of.
Everyone knows what franchises are but they have EXTREMELY high barriers to entry to own, including six figure cash minimums, net worth requirements, the right experience to run a franchise properly, and more.
Then the thought was born...
Why can't you own franchises like you own stocks?
You can invest in fractional shares of art, real estate, and baseball cards but actual local, cash generating businesses are out of reach.
So here's where I need your help. I did it. But I need to validate it.
I created FranShares. Where you can invest in a portfolio of professionally-managed franchises in minutes, with no fees.

Please ProductHunters, check out the website, tell me what you think, join the waitlist if you love it.
Is this is a type of asset people are interested in?
What channels do you go to to learn about diversifying your investment portfolio?
Other than returns, what do you look for when making an investment?
Has anyone here ever tried to create a new asset class? What pitfalls should I watch out for?
Looking forward to years to come of ProductHunt relationships!

Kenny, is this only for Americans, or can folks outside of the States participate, too? (And why a waiting list, versus a direct signup? I don't have much experience in investing, so I'm not sure if this is a common thing or not.)
Thanks! :)
