Hey everyone, Daniel here, maker of Forj. I've set up project infrastructure from scratch more times than I can count. Register domain, create GitHub org, set up Cloudflare, wire DNS records. Same ritual, every time, before writing a single line of product code. The breaking point was realizing I'd done this a dozen times and still had to look up SPF record syntax. None of these steps are hard individually. But collectively they eat an afternoon and the decisions you make during setup are quietly load-bearing. Forj is the senior infra person most early-stage teams don't have on day one, packaged as npx forj-cli init. I originally scoped this as a full platform (domain, GitHub, Cloudflare, Google Workspace, Vercel, Railway) all wired together. V1 ships the three things that are truly painful to do correctly together: domain registration, GitHub org + repo, and Cloudflare DNS with automatic nameserver wiring. The other big shift was making it agent-ready from day one — --non-interactive --json mode so AI coding agents can call Forj as a tool. That wasn't in the original spec but became obvious fast. $1 service fee on top of domain purchase (wholesale domain price). No tiers, no subscription.
