Free tool to test Google and System Fonts – instant preview

I built FontPreview because I got tired of guessing how fonts look with real client content. Most preview tools only show "Lorem Ipsum" – useless. With FontPreview you can: • Preview fonts with your actual text • Compare system fonts side-by-side • Adjust size, weight, spacing, colors • Test dark/light mode instantly • Try variable fonts with live sliders Everything runs in your browser – your text stays private. 100% free, no account needed.

I built FontPreview because I kept running into the same problem: I'd pick a font that looked beautiful in previews, only to realize it looked terrible with my actual content.
Most font tools show "Lorem Ipsum" or pre-written text. But real client work has real words – with capital letters, punctuation, weird character combinations. You don't know if a font works until you see it with your actual text.
So I built a tool that lets you:
• Type your own text and see it instantly in any font
• Compare Google Fonts with your system fonts side-by-side
• Adjust every variable – size, weight, spacing, color
• Test in dark mode (because half your users will read there)
Everything runs in your browser. Your text never leaves your device – privacy was non-negotiable for me.
The response from the design community has been incredible. Designers are using it for client work, developers are testing variable fonts, and typography enthusiasts are discovering new favorites.
Would love to hear how you test fonts. What's your process? Any features you'd like to see?
Thanks for checking out FontPreview! 🚀
