I’m a real estate GP. Every quarter I owe my investors an update on how their deals are performing, and every quarter I lost most of an afternoon to it. The numbers lived in one place, last quarter’s letter in another, my notes buried in my inbox, and somehow it all had to come together into something my investors would actually read and trust.
The frustrating part was that I already knew the deal cold. I’d done the hard work. Writing it up just shouldn’t have cost me a whole day, every cycle.
So I built Foldout to close that gap. You bring what’s happening at the property, it drafts the update in your own voice using your past updates for continuity, and you send something you’re proud of in a fraction of the time. It’s a writing layer, not another platform to migrate onto. It works alongside whatever you already use.
The thing I care most about is that it sounds like you, not like software. Your investors invested in you. The update should sound like you too.
Would genuinely love feedback from other operators and builders here. What’s the most painful recurring writing task in your world?

Honestly pretty cool concept, the generated update sounded close to how I normally write. Skipped the usual AI fluff which is rare for this kind of tool.

@odell_kwan Thanks! We built Foldout to translate your notes and past updates into your writing style and produce newsletters made from your messy notes into newsletter written in your voice.

Love how this leans on the messy notes GPs already have instead of forcing them into a rigid template. That "sounds like you wrote it" framing feels like actual respect for how operators communicate, not another AI tone polish.

@danaykroyd Appreciate this, you put it better than I have. The messy notes are the whole starting point, because that is what actually exists the night before an update goes out. I never wanted operators changing how they work to fit the tool. Thanks for taking the time to look.
