I work in content marketing and have ADHD. I built the FocusRead Reader Mode because a solution I actually needed didn't exist in Chrome.
Two problems were making my workday harder than it needed to be:
- Chrome's built-in reader mode is inconsistent, has a bad UI, and mostly doesn't work.
- And the ads, autoplay videos, and sidebars on every article I tried to read were killing my focus, I'd either forget what I was researching or keep procrastinating until I missed deadlines.
I checked every reader mode extension on the Chrome Web Store before building. Most had incomplete features, broken extraction, or looked like they hadn't been updated in years.
So I focused on three things: a clean UI that gets out of your way, reliable extraction that works even on sites that block other reader modes, and PRO features built specifically for focus: bionic reading, focus line highlighting, and hands-free auto scroll.
The FocusRead Reader Mode is the tool I wish had existed when I needed it. I hope it helps you too.

The FocusRead Reader Mode is free forever, the PRO features are always optional and do not interfere with the core functionalities of the extension at all. In short, it never comes between you and your ability to read ad-free online.
