Focal is a chrome extension that automatically transforms browser recordings into polished product demos with smart zooms, click animations, and keystrokes. Built for SaaS founders, agencies, and product teams.
Hi everyone! 👋
I'm the founder of Focal.
Every time I wanted to create a product or website demo, recording was the easy part. Making it look polished wasn't. I found myself spending more time editing the recording than actually creating the demo.
So I built Focal, a Chrome extension that automatically enhances browser recordings with smooth zooms, click animations, and keystrokes, making product demos look polished from the start.
I'd love your honest feedback, especially if you're a SaaS founder, agency, or anyone who creates product demos regularly. Your feedback will directly shape the future of Focal.
I'll be around all day answering every question

how does it handle longer workflows when a single click or scroll step would normally look too fast or too slow in the final demo?
Report
the auto zoom follow on my clicks actually worked way better than i expected, no editing needed after. One thing i'd want is a way to slow down sections where i'm typing credentials or something sensitive.

The smart zoom that follows the cursor during playback is such a thoughtful touch, makes the whole demo feel way more intentional than the raw screen recording would. Really clean execution on the keystroke overlays too.

Adding a quick "demo script" overlay mode would be huge for sales teams, like the ability to drop in talking points that appear as subtle captions timed to each click, so the video walks the viewer through the pitch without needing a separate voiceover.

The smart zoom following the cursor is genuinely impressive, way smoother than the choppy pans I usually see in automated editors. Clean execution on something most tools botch.

Recorded a quick product walkthrough and the smart zoom picked up exactly the parts I wanted to highlight, saved me like twenty minutes of editing. The click animations feel smooth, not cheesy.
