Flowceipt

I’m the maker of Flowceipt. Like many of you, I’m a freelancer who’s spent far too much time buried in expense paperwork. For years, I'd literally hand my accountant a shoebox of receipts, only to end up scanning and sorting them myself later. It was always a huge headache.

So I built Flowceipt to solve my own problem. It uses AI to handle the messy work, reading receipts and automatically creating reports. It's been a game-changer for me, and I've processed over 500 receipts with it so far, saving me hours every month.

Here are the features that helped me the most:

• Mobile App: Snap receipts in seconds. The app auto-crops images, reads QR codes, and lets you log expenses on the go so you don't have to deal with them later.

• AI-Powered Analysis: The smart OCR extracts data, auto-categorizes expenses, flags duplicates, and validates VAT and compliance rules based on your country. Upload from your mobile app, web app, or Google Drive.

• Google Drive & Sheets Integration: Drop files into a folder, and you can import them directly from the app. Generate Sheets reports in seconds.

• Smart Matching: AI automatically matches your bank transactions to receipts. Just upload your bank statements. You can also export bank statements as CSV.

• Lockable Periods: My accountant suggested this one. Lock accounting periods to protect your books. Get instant alerts about changes and visualize spending with powerful year-over-year analytics.

• AI Assistant: Your personal finance genius. Ask about trends, get spending insights, and receive instant answers from your complete financial data.

• Collaboration: Invite your team and accountant to use a single source of truth for every expense. Know what the company owes to each team member based on the payment method.

There are plenty of smaller features I’ve added along the way as I needed them, and I believe they can help you too.

For the fellow devs out there: part of why I built Flowceipt was to have fun and sharpen my own skills — not just in building robust web apps, but also diving deeper into DevOps with Kubernetes + CI/CD pipelines and AI development - things like prompt/context engineering, experimenting with AI agents, and “vibe coding” with tools like Cursor and Claude Code. I pulled it together in about 3 months (half of that part-time) - the “controlled” vibe coding gave me a massive productivity boost I didn’t expect tbh.
