Loving the web app! It’s way more convenient; really glad to see you moved away from needing the Chrome extension. Why did you require it in the first place anyway?
@mimurchison Thanks Mike! We actually started off building a way to share your local host. When we decided to build out Flowcast in it’s current form we just kept building on top of it so it kinda stuck around. Once we got notes working well, we transitioned away from the extension as the main interface. It’s still around though if you wanna get feedback on a local site :)
This is awesome, just tried it out on a few sites and it’s really slick! Kind of like InVision but for websites.
Do you think people that use InVision will need Flowcast?
@onassar Thanks Oliver, glad you like it! Good comparison, it seems to be something people jump to, we’ve even used it a few times to describe Flowcast haha :)
As for your question, we don’t see InVision as a competitor. InVision works great with designs and prototypes but once things move to an actual product it becomes less useful. We’ve seen people import screenshots and use it that way but that’s still a hassle. We’re looking to fit in from the point you start writing code until you ship - we basically pick up where InVision leaves off.
@vstaykov Okay gotcha Valentin. Makes sense. Thanks for the quick turnaround :)

This is really cool, so easy to set up! Just curious how does it work, do you embed things in an iFrame? I’m assuming there’s some limitations to what it can do.
@chimptl Thanks Chinmay! What we do is a bit more complicated, if it’s a publicly accessible site we actually proxy it through our servers and add the Flowcast tools. This means it works on pretty much any site, the only issues are with streaming video and logging into certain sites, for security reasons. But for those we have a script tag that you can embed to work on a logged in view.
Flowcast has been super useful for getting feedback to web developers. It goes a step above Invision in that you can actually interact with, test and leave comments on a site whether it's in development, staging and production.
Thanks for the hunt @robjama!
Hi everyone! I’m Valentin, one of the co-founders of Flowcast and we’re really excited to launch on Product Hunt. We started Flowcast because we wanted to make it really easy to give and get feedback on websites you’re working on.
We looked around and saw designers giving design feedback directly on top of designs with tools like inVision and developers giving code feedback directly on the code with things like GitHub. We decided to do the same thing for product teams working on websites.
We’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback on Flowcast, and we’re happy to answer any questions!
Also, to show our love for the Product Hunt community we’re giving 25% off to everyone that signs up today.
Great idea, definitely looking for a product in this category, but I would love to see a bit more polish before paying for a service like this.
Edit: Seems like a very promising team & product!
@futhey Thanks James! I'd love to hear about any other things you'd like to see in the product. If you're up for a chat shoot me a note at valentin@flowca.st
As for the image you uploaded, we've been toying with a few different ways to make the sidebar better. We had the whole page move over at one point so nothing is ever behind it but that caused some issues so we're now working on another solution.
@futhey Great, I'll follow up :)
And we actually had that but a lot of people found it confusing :| We're pretty much reworking the sidebar currently, trying to find a better way to display that info.
