Find Better Work

Hey PH 👋, I built this job board to help those of us looking for more satisfying work. I collected listings from Code for America, Design Gigs for Good, and others. The product is simple: find job, click job. This was a week-only project built with create-react-app, GitHub Pages, and Airtable. I hope you find it useful if not catchy. 🙏Thoughts and questions are highly appreciated.

As a tech engineer, I'm pretty much always willfully ignorant of how little "greater good" my work is accomplishing. Turns out building a company that sustains themselves while doing notable good in the world is a hard problem. There was even an Ask HN thread the other day where the poster asked for companies in the bay area where you'd feel ethically comfortable working... and the answers were basically just Mozilla and Watsi. But this is a great way to find as many of them as possible, so I'm a fan.

Pros:

Most tech jobs don't really affect society in ways that make you feel good about yourself, but these probably will.

Cons:

- there aren't that many jobs that match my preferences - maybe needs more data

- a "remote ok" filter would be cool
