FileScope is a local AI search engine for Windows that understands your files and lets you search them by name, by content, or by meaning.

Does the indexing happen on-device or does it need to send anything to the cloud? I care a lot about my local files staying completely private.
@eymenevf2Β 100% on-device. Everything runs locally and your files never leave your computer. Privacy isn't a feature here, it's the foundation.
Hey Hunters! π I built FileScope because finding files on your own computer shouldn't be this hard.
You need a file you saved weeks ago, but you don't remember what you named it or where you put it. So you dig through folders, waste five minutes, and just give up.
That's where FileScope comes in. It uses a local AI model to understand your files, so you can find them by describing what you're looking for in plain language.
What that looks like in practice:
Type "that contract with the design agency" and it finds MSA-CreativePartners-2026.pdf
Type "last quarter finances" and it pulls up Q4-Revenue-Report.xlsx
Type "tiger" and it finds a photo of a tiger, even if the file is named IMG_4839.jpg
How it works:
Install. Choose your folders.
Press Ctrl + Space from anywhere. A floating search bar appears.
Type what you're looking for. Done.
100% offline. Works with PDFs, docs, spreadsheets, code, images, and more.
Grab it and try it on your messiest folder. π
Searched my messy Downloads folder by asking for "that pdf about pricing from last week" and it actually pulled it up, which still feels like magic for a local tool. Setup took maybe two minutes.
@hediyema5kLove hearing this! The "describe what you remember" use case is exactly what we built FileScope for. Glad the setup was smooth too, that was a big focus for us.
Hello,
I purchased the software but it is not working on my Windows 11 PC
The software opens but it does not find any other files except for .exe
I add a directory which I know has the different types of files but even after re-indexing they are not found, only apps files.
Another note, I originally sent this email to support@filescope.dev but it was returnedΒ 554: 5.7.1 <support@filescope.dev>: Relay access denied
Hopefully there is a fix, looks like it has a ton of potential.
Thanks for your help and time,
