Hi everyone! I’m the solo developer behind Takatoke Factory. By day, I’m a History Teacher. By night, I’m an 80s nostalgic fighting Xcode’s RAM usage on an 8GB MacBook Air. Falken Writer was born out of pure nostalgia. I missed the glowing, monochromatic simplicity of old GW-Basic and terminal screens where you only had your cursor and your thoughts. Modern text editors are great, but they are often full of settings, buttons, and popups that break your creative flow. So, I decided to build a time machine using SwiftUI. Falken Writer gives you that vintage CRT vibe while keeping the modern perks you need, like instant iCloud sync between your iPad and Mac. It’s light, fast, and stays out of your way. I work on regular updates to polish and improve every single detail and fix issues as I find them, while gradually adding new features over time.
