Fahm is an AI Tajweed coach that gives real-time, word-level feedback on your Quran recitation — Ghunnah, Madd, Qalqalah — and compares your voice side-by-side with Al-Afasy. Every verse also comes with classical tafsir (Ibn Kathir, Al-Jalalayn, Al-Tabari, Al-Wahidi) in plain English, so you're not just pronouncing words correctly, you know what they mean. Built around a 300-word core vocabulary and a mastery quiz bank that tests meaning and root patterns, not just recognition.
Hey PH 👋
I built Fahm solo, non-technical, after noticing every recitation app I tried taught me to say the words correctly but never to understand them — and every tafsir app was too dense to use in the five minutes before Salah.
Fahm tries to close that gap: real-time Tajweed correction on your actual voice, plus classical scholarly commentary rewritten in plain English, word by word, across all 114 surahs.
A few things I'd love feedback on:
Does the Tajweed feedback feel accurate/useful, or too strict/lenient?
Is the tafsir depth right, or would you want more/less per word?
Anything confusing in the onboarding flow?
Happy to answer anything about the build — this was React Native/Expo + Supabase, built almost entirely with AI-assisted coding since I'm not a software engineer by background.
