Hey PH 👋 I'm David, I built this. Coding assistants like Claude Code have changed the shape of a dev day. Each task moves faster, which means you're no longer sequencing work, you're juggling it. Multiple branches, multiple agents, multiple things half-done at once. The bottleneck shifted from writing code to managing context. There are tools built for this ([Conductor](https://conductor.build), [Superset](https://superset.sh)) and they're doing interesting work. But they felt heavier than I wanted: new workflows, cloud setup, a different way of thinking about your work. I also believe that the tools shaping this new paradigm of how we work should be open and available to everyone, the same way VS Code winning by being free changed what a whole generation of developers reached for first. I wanted something that didn't ask me to change anything, and that anyone could use, inspect, and build on. Factory Floor just makes the juggling visible. Each workstream gets its own git worktree, Ghostty terminal, dev server, and a persistent Claude Code session. Switch between them in a keystroke, everything stays exactly where you left it. No stashing, no re-orienting your agent, no lost state. The meta detail I love: I built Factory Floor using Factory Floor. Each feature was its own workstream, running in parallel. That's when I knew it actually worked. Native macOS. Open source. No accounts, no cloud, no friction, just the parallel work you're already doing, laid out in front of you. Happy to go deep on any of it: the tmux persistence trick, worktree setup, the .factoryfloor.json config, whatever.

I switched away from Conductor to Factory Floor and my experience coding with Claude in worktrees is now much smoother and faster. Plus David has been very responsive to feedback and bug reports!
