Most desk workers know they should move more - but a 5-minute walk feels disruptive. Exercise Snacks prompts you to do 10 bodyweight squats at your desk, every 30–45 minutes. This isn't guesswork. A 2024 randomized trial found 10 squats every 45 min reduces blood glucose by 21% - identical to frequent walking breaks, and double a single 30-min walk. 30 science-backed exercises · 3 reminder modes · compassionate streaks that don't punish rest days.

I built this after going down a rabbit hole of exercise science research and realising that one of the most effective things a desk worker can do - 10 squats every 45 minutes - takes under 30 seconds and requires no equipment, no gym clothes, and no leaving your desk.
The 2024 Gao et al. study in the Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports is what convinced me this was worth building. Squats matched walking for glucose control, beat walking for triglycerides, and uniquely activated muscle protein synthesis. The science was there. The app wasn't.
I'm a solo developer and built this with Expo + Claude Code. Would love any feedback - especially from people who've tried (and failed) to stick to movement reminders before. What made you give up?
