Hi Product Hunt — I’m Anton, the maker of El Niño. If you’re new to this: El Niño is a recurring warming pattern in the tropical Pacific. It can influence weather around the world, but knowing whether it is actually building is not as simple as looking at one warm number. I kept finding the answer scattered across tables, maps and historical records. So I built an iPhone app that answers four plain questions: - What is the Pacific doing now? - How strong is the signal? - What changed recently? - What still needs to happen before the status changes? The first screen gives a clear status: warming, cooling or still uncertain. The 0–100 score shows how strong the evidence is — it is not a grade or a forecast probability. A map shows where the unusual warmth or coolness sits. The charts show whether the move is strengthening or fading. Historical comparisons show how similar completed events developed — as context, not a prediction. A Home Screen widget keeps the latest complete update nearby, and local alerts can flag meaningful signal changes. A visual Brief turns the current status into a square or portrait image ready for feeds, stories and chats. The app refreshes directly from public NOAA sources. Upfront paid once, with no account or subscription. El Niño provides independent climate context. It is not official NOAA guidance, a forecast or warning service, or financial, insurance, agricultural, legal, safety, emergency or local-weather advice. I ve been building El Ni o, a native iPhone app that turns live NOAA climate data into a clear view of what is happening across the tropical Pacific.

Instead of showing only an El Ni o or La Ni a label, the app explains the current signal, its strength and direction, confidence, key drivers and similar periods from the historical record.
