Duplicate tabs can really be a sneaky productivity drain but does your plugin also catch near-duplicate URLs with query strings or is it just for exact matches?
@sophia_watson3 Hello Sophia, Thank you for your message. You're absolutely right — duplicate tabs can quietly drain productivity. Currently, the plugin only detects and closes exact match URLs. It does not handle near-duplicate URLs, such as those with different query strings or slight variations, because technically, they are treated as unique by the browser.

This is super useful thanks for creating something that just works. Does it ask for confirmation before closing tabs or does it close them right away?

At this stage, the plugin is designed for a quick, uninterrupted experience, where exact duplicate tabs are closed instantly with a single click. The idea is to silently remove only the true duplicates while keeping all unique tabs (even near-duplicates) untouched. Adding a visual review screen would slow things down and somewhat defeat the purpose of having a one-click cleanup tool.
This is fantastic for keeping things tidy but how does it work with Chrome’s memory saving tab suspension features? Do you also pick up on those suspended duplicates?
@jude_gray Hi Judy, Thank you for your question. OrangeTab scans all open tabs regardless of whether they're active or suspended. It identifies duplicates based on their URLs and closes the extras, leaving just one unique tab open. Chrome’s memory saver doesn’t affect that process.
Does it support tab groups?
