I built dstld I wanted a newsletter in my inbox every morning to catch up on the news that stories that mattered to me.
dstld is a daily news digest with a European perspective. The sources are curated by humans, and summarized by AI. However AI does not decide what to run - the newsletter is always edited and approved by a human. It is a broad interest newsletter, covering everything from world and European news to AI and games, but easy to tune to the categories you actually want to see.
One thing that mattered a lot to me was attribution. I spent a lot of time tuning it so that the LLM could recognize significant claims in an article and make sure they are attributed to where it found them. dstld is meant to be a jumping off point for your news - giving you the information needed to decide if you want to read the full coverage from the original sources.
It’s an early project, and I’m launching it here to learn from people who care about news, media, and better ways to stay informed.
