You'd think that two devices on the same network would send files super easily, but no, not without some setup. DropSilk is, in every way, my response to that ridiculous situation. You simply visit the page, create a "flight," and send an invite to your other device or peer via the flight dashboard. No unnecessary complications. Want to see the file before you download it? We've got preview support for over 20 file types, from .docx to code with highlighting, and even video. Want to send a 10GB file? We've got you covered. Just enable Safe Mode in the settings, and DropSilk will smartly switch its logic to store the download directly to your device, preventing browser crashes. Received many files? DropSilk has a "Download as Zip" option so you can download them all neatly. Don't want all the files? No problem! Just select the ones you actually want. Want to send one file before everything else? We've got you covered there too. You can adjust the queue by dragging items up or down! Dark outside? Enable Dark Mode and enjoy our neat little animations. I am entirely confident that DropSilk is the best P2P file-sharing solution ever made... or at least it looks the part! :) All code is open source including the backend. Check out the github repo.
