The EDC landscape is fractured and spread across 190+ boutique sites, Discords, Subreddits, private Facebook groups, Instagram, and newsletters. Drop Beacon consolidates it all into one real-time engine. We track everything from Magnus fidgets to Magnacut blades, sending push notifications the second gear goes live. Stop juggling tabs and losing to cart-snipers. If you’re waiting for the official marketing email to hit your inbox, you’re already too late. One feed. Every drop. Instant alerts.

I built Drop Beacon out of pure frustration. As an EDC collector, I was tired of being 'fast enough' only to find a 'Sold Out' button because I was relying on marketing emails that arrived three minutes too late. In our world, where Grade 5 titanium, Magnacut, and Seigaiha patterns vanish in seconds, email is basically a participation trophy.
I realized the landscape was too fractured. Between 190+ boutique makers and major retailers, staying informed was a full-time job. I wanted to consolidate that chaos into a single, real-time 'beacon' that listens to site backends directly so we can beat the bots and the newsletters.
My approach started as a simple scraping script for one or two favorite brands, but it quickly evolved into a massive infrastructure challenge. I had to build a parsing engine that could handle dozens of different site architectures (Shopify, WooCommerce, custom builds) without being blocked or lagging.
During this launch process, I moved from just 'tracking' to 'filtering.' I realized users didn't want every notification; they wanted the specific, high-intent drops that actually matter. Refining that signal-to-noise ratio became the core of Drop Beacon.
I’m excited to finally share this with the community. I’d love to hear which brands you want to see added to our tracking list next!
