I kept pasting interesting links into a chat to read later, then forgot what they were. driftnet sits in your group chat (Discord, Telegram, Slack, LINE) or your browser and turns each link into a card: what it is, what you'll see, why it matters. It sorts cards into folders, notifies you, and keeps everything searchable on a web page. Runs on your own computer with any model, or a local one via Ollama. Your AI agent can search it over MCP.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Kevin.
I love learning new things, so I'm always finding useful tutorials and tools on social media. I'd paste the link into a chat app to read later, then forget it. When I went looking, all I had was a list of links and no idea what any of them were.
So I built driftnet. Drop a link in your group chat or click the Chrome button, and it:
finds the real project (even when the link is "in the comments" on Threads, X or Instagram)
writes a short card: what it is, what you'll see, why it matters
sorts it into a folder and lets you know
keeps it all searchable, and your AI agent can search it too (MCP)
It runs on your own machine (npx driftnet), works with any model or a local one, and needs no account.
Try the demo in your browser, no install: https://kevinchu1110.github.io/driftnet/demo/
One question I keep asking myself: phones ship with Gemini and Siri now. Why can't they just organize my links every day? I'd love your ideas, and any feedback to make it better.
