Draftli started because I kept losing money in the gap between "client says it looks good" and "client actually pays." That gap was sometimes two weeks, and it felt adversarial chasing payment on already-approved work. So I collapsed the two steps. The client opens one link, comments on watermarked previews, hits approve, and approve is the Stripe Checkout button. Originals unlock the second payment clears. One URL replaces a proofing tool, an invoice tool, a handoff email and project storage. The build evolved more on the Stripe side than the product side. Started with Connect destination charges because every tutorial defaults to them, then noticed my brand was showing on client card statements instead of the freelancer's. Switched to direct charges with stripeAccount. Day to debug, three lines to fix. That's what made the pricing land at Free 5%, Pro €19/month 0%, Ultra €39/month 0%. Comping 3 months of Ultra to working freelancers who'll use it on a real project and tell me what breaks.
