Focus apps block entire websites when all I needed was to block the distractions inside them. DPWRK is a Mac app that blocks content non-related to your goal - now you can use websites like Youtube/reddit without the distracting content.

Most Mac focus apps felt useless to me.
They’d block entire sites or apps, when my problem was smaller — the distractions inside them.
If I’m studying, I need the YouTube lecture, not the homepage.
If I’m researching, I need the Reddit thread, not the endless scroll.
So I built dpwrk:
• Write down your session goal and start the session.
• Content non related to that goal is blocked
• Everything that's non related to the goal gets cut off at the network level.
It’s basically a firewall, but built for Deep Work.
PS: All your data is stored locally on your device and AI functionalities are implemented using the Gemini API key you give.
Hope you guys try it out and like it . If you have any feedbacks ping me at johanbijupaul123@gmail.com

Very cool idea! I've wanted something like this for a while since the native screen time controls are too black and white. Does this only work with Safari for now?
@vaporwave_cowboy Thank you. for now it works only with safari but im coming up with something for chromium based browsers as well
@sachindas246 thank you Sachin
@johan_paul1 the idea is simply charming. I tried a lot of productivity apps (like Forest), although it serves the purpose, but I feel it is lacking an element that @Deepwork (DPWRK) brings in. The Goal Driven approach to filter/ block webpages that distract you. I hope you expand this app to all OS systems.
Just loved your work! ❤️
Loved how it works. Should be a real add on for me but I'm on Linux .p
Beautiful user interaction too
Really loved this thing!
My main problem is that when I'm surfing YouTube about a study topic, I usually get distracted by other things — maybe a new video from a YouTube creator I love — and after that, my mood for studying is gone.
But now, after using this app for just one day, it has reduced all my usual distractions and helped me focus on the one thing or topic I am studying or researching.
Big props to Johan and Achuth.
Keep it up!
