Doxudel is an offline-first Windows workstation for document redaction and PII de-identification. Built for legal, finance, and compliance workflows, it eliminates cloud exposure and third-party data processor liability under GDPR and UK DPA. Instead of superficial black overlays, Doxudel outputs sanitized raster PDFs where hidden text layers cannot be extracted. Features local OCR, checksum-driven detection across 12 jurisdictions, folder monitoring, and PII-free audit logs.

As someone working closely with data compliance and legal workflows, I’ve long struggled with the lack of reliable, privacy-first tools for digital PII redaction.
The existing landscape forces an impossible compromise:
1. Basic Regex Tools: Useful for rigid patterns, but they fail to capture contextual private data and named entities.
2. Web & Cloud Tools (including Cloud LLMs): Uploading sensitive files to third-party endpoints creates massive compliance and liability risks under GDPR and data protection laws. Once data leaves your local machine, chain-of-custody is broken.
3. Heavy Infrastructure: Running local 70B+ LLMs requires expensive enterprise hardware, yet generative models still hallucinate and miss deterministic data patterns. Pay-as-you-go cloud redaction also quickly inflates operational costs.
To solve this, we built Doxudel.
Instead of heavy LLMs or simplistic regexes, Doxudel pairs optimized, lightweight on-device NER (Named Entity Recognition) models with deterministic checksum validation. It runs entirely on standard local hardware without cloud dependencies, external API calls, or recurring per-gigabyte fees.
Documents never leave your workstation, and sensitive areas are permanently flattened into sanitized rasters—preventing reverse-extraction.
