Hi all! I'm excited to share Dori with you today.
The idea for Dori came from a simple observation: even though we're more connected than ever, many people still struggle to find someone who genuinely understands what they're feeling. Sometimes you don't need advice—you just need someone who listens with kindness.
We built Dori to make those connections easier. Instead of matching people by interests or location, Dori connects people through shared emotional experiences in a safe, anonymous, and supportive environment. Whether you want to be heard, offer support, or simply remind someone they're not alone, every interaction is designed to be gentle, respectful, and meaningful.
Building Dori involved countless iterations around privacy, trust, safety, and creating an experience that feels calm rather than overwhelming. Every design decision—from the emotional check-ins to the "Connect Gently" approach—was made to encourage genuine human connection.
We'd truly love your feedback. What feels intuitive? What would you improve? Are there features you'd like to see next?

I like this idea, I know there are a lot of people who would love to help others feel better. And obviously a lot of people who could use connection. How do you prevent malicious people or "pranking" users?

@mjohnson42 I really appreciate the kind words! To prevent bad actors, I will set up block or report option for users facing this issue. I am also relying heavily on community reporting. If someone starts pranking, users can flag them, and they will be removed from the platform. It's a work in progress, but protecting the community's mental space is step one for me. - https://mydoriapp.in/ this is the link to my app.

Congratulations on the launch! I like that you match people by a shared feeling rather than interests or location, and the anonymous, gentle approach seems important for people to feel safe opening up :) How do you keep the space supportive without it tipping into people giving each other advice they aren't equipped to give?

Honestly the matching feels way more thoughtful than I expected, like it actually picks up on the vibe of what you're going through. Wish something like this existed a few years back when I really needed it.
