I'm Anshul, and I built Diurnal because I could not find this app anywhere (at least not for free).

The problem was simple to say and hard to find: I wanted my tasks and my calendar in one place and I wanted to reach it without leaving whatever I was doing.

Every to-do app was a place I had to go. Switch to it, click around, file the thing, find my way back. By then the thought had cost me the work I was in the middle of.

So Diurnal is a key instead of a place.

Press ⌥⌘K over anything, write the thought the way you would say it, and it lands on the right day
Hold ⌥⌘L and just speak it, several tasks in one breath
Your Google Calendar sits beside your tasks, syncing both ways
Weekly planning built in: file a task into the week, drag it onto a day later
Reminders ring at the task's time
Native Mac app, works offline and its fast!

The weekly planning part was missing from almost everything I tried, or locked behind a subscription I did not want. So I built my own.
