Hi friends! Thanks Alexis. I am constantly seeking new ways to create content on every platform. Film is such a memorable and unique way to capture memories and movement. There is something more inviting and appealing about a disposable camera and a film photo and I want everyone to be able to conveniently share that same experience! Today social media is often missing the authentic connections it once praised and endorsed. At Disposable we set out to promote authenticity by digitally re-creating the nostalgic feeling and delayed gratification behind waiting for a roll of film to develop. Then the unexpected happened; the app debuted at number 1 on the App Store, gained 2 million users in just two months, and even Product Hunt wrote about us a few times. We realized then that Disposable’s mission is something bigger than just cool photos: it’s preserving the community and connections that these raw, authentic, unique photos create. We’re on a mission to create the next great social media network, built on authenticity. We’re looking for extraordinary members to join our core team: Lead Designer – Come be our Jony Ive. @naveenkumar The difference is @alexisohanian has 34k followers, which unfortunately is how PH works nowadays… Doesn't really matter how good the product itself is, as only those hunted by "influential" (hate this term) hunters get proper traction/recognition.

Is it possible not to feel nostalgic when using this app? It perfectly captures the sense of delayed gratification that comes from an old timey disposable camera -- without the landfill guilt -- and I think it's the right time for the pendulum to swing back from constant (over)sharing on social media. @david_dobrik is a fount of joy and optimism in the world, and this app captures his mirthful spirit and distills it for us all to enjoy. I'm really enjoying the app; thanks for making it!

Pool time with my daughter Olympia is the best time. I shot some pool photos on Disposable and it really made me smile. There’s something about untethering ourselves from our phones and the delight of seeing the “prints” the next day. Excited to see what David and his team build

The broadcasting model has become too noisy, too "dolled up", and too cumbersome to maintain--especially for Gen-Z. Products that focus on "unfiltered" experiences that involve more close knit groups/communities, like Disposable, are defining the next wave of social.

Love products that find dimensions people care about and go the other direction to create something truly different. Fidelity: everyone else is focusing on sharper photos, this creates a nostalgic version. Speed: everything is instant, this is tomorrow. Great job guys. Also like the example this shows of shipping something with a notion page versus worrying about needing the perfect URL and web designed page to launch.
