Hey folks, delighted to be here again! 👋 I was a freelance Software Engineer for many years and always found that the commit history of each new codebase I worked with told me a vital story about it. I dread to think how many hours I spent reading commit logs! I created a ChatGPT-powered suite of tools to help myself and others uncover stories which can be told from commit history alone - no code is ever accessed, let alone read or passed to ChatGPT. At present, Digest Diff has three distinct tools: * Codebase overviews: detailed run throughs of a codebase's commit history, with contextual commit links * Recaps: standup-style progress updates of what you did yesterday or last week * Release notes: automated release notes between commits X and Y of a codebase From a privacy perspective it was very important to me to go nowhere near any code, so all three tools exclusively leverage a repository's commit history and the output from each tool is never stored on our servers - only ever your browser or as a file if you choose to export it as one. Give it a go - I think you'll find the results surprisingly good!

Congrats on the launch! I really like this product, however, I think that a chat-like interface would be a lot easier to use than a summary generation. The chat interface gives it that extra bit of interactivity that would make this product a lot easier to use

It actually started off as a chat app but I just didn't think the accuracy of the replies were good enough; despite using every trick in the book I couldn't keep the LLM on track when things got interactive, so I pivoted towards more pre-fabricated tooling to cover what I felt were the best use cases of commit history alone.
