Hey Product Hunt 👋 We built The Diamond Price Index because diamond pricing is surprisingly difficult to understand. Most buyers can find thousands of individual listings, but it’s much harder to answer a simpler question: are comparable diamond prices actually rising or falling? The index tracks natural and lab-grown diamonds separately, using a fixed quality benchmark and daily median asking prices. You can explore: 💎 Natural and lab-grown price movements 📈 Changes over one, three, and six months 🔷 Trends for round, oval, princess, and pear shapes 🔍 Weekly sample sizes and a published methodology 🖼️ A live index image that can be embedded in articles and websites One result that stood out to us: lab-grown prices have fallen much faster than natural diamond prices. The index is free, and we’ve tried to be unusually direct about its methodology, limitations, and missing data. If a series doesn’t meet our reliability checks, we don’t publish it. I’d especially value your feedback on two things: 1. What additional comparisons would make the index more useful? 2. Would you use an API, downloadable history, or embeddable charts?
