Hi Product Hunt 👋 I built this because I kept losing the same window. I keep a checklist open while I work — Google Keep, usually. Every few minutes I'd maximise something else and it would disappear underneath. Then I'd go hunting for it, drag it back, and lose it again ten minutes later. Windows has no real answer for this. Snap and FancyZones arrange windows relative to each other, but the next maximised window still covers everything. "Always on top" fails the other way — it floats over your work and hides whatever is underneath. The one thing that ever solved it properly was OneNote's "Dock to Desktop". It made the desktop itself narrower, so maximised windows stopped at the pane instead of covering it. It worked beautifully — and only ever for OneNote. DeskDock does that for any program. It registers as a Windows AppBar (the same mechanism the taskbar uses), so Windows genuinely reserves the space. Maximise anything and it fills only what's left. Things that turned out far harder than I expected: • Apps that refuse to shrink below a minimum width — those get right-aligned so their close buttons stay reachable instead of sliding off screen. • Surviving Win+D. Show Desktop hides windows with an effect that leaves every window flag still saying "visible", so there is nothing to detect — the dock has to already be in the right z-order band before it happens. • Multiple monitors, each with its own dock, its own width, and the right ones coming back after you swap between a home and office setup.
