Dentity is a consumer-first digital identity platform built on open identity standards and fully W3C compliant. We empower users to regain ownership of their personal data and identity.
@mikestaub Hey Mike. We understand your concern. We leverage technology that is proprietary and thus cannot be open-sourced, however, we're starting to open up our tooling which will be completely open-sourced: JavaScript libraries to leverage our ENS identity and eventually our Identity Oracles.
Congrats @dentity , Impressive launch! The focus on user ownership and transparency is much needed in today's digital landscape. How does Dentity plan to stay ahead of potential security threats and ensure continuous protection for its users? Looking forward to seeing how this evolves!
Hey Justin,
I'm curious about how you're handling privacy concerns, especially given the sensitive nature of the documents you're verifying.
How do you see Dentity integrating with existing identity systems that many businesses and governments already use?
Congrats on the launch!
@kyrylosilin Hey Kyrylo, Great question! Privacy is at the core of everything we do at Dentity, especially given the sensitive nature of the documents we verify. We manage this by using Verifiable Credentials, meaning that once a user completes a verification process, like KYC, the sensitive data is discarded after the credential is issued. This ensures that users fully own and control their credentials, which can only be accessed by them after authentication.
We also have a variety of verification methods that span across various levels of compliance, including Visual ID Verification, AML, and NIST 800-63-3. These verifications adhere to best-in-class IAL2 standards for remote identity proofing, ensuring that the individual claiming an identity on a government-issued document is actually present during verification. We’re constantly expanding our verification methods, and we’re excited to soon launch new features around uniqueness, personhood, and more!
As for integrating with existing identity systems, Dentity is designed to complement and enhance these systems. We use advanced data encryption and top-tier security mechanisms to ensure that our credentials can be seamlessly integrated while maintaining the highest standards of privacy and security. We’re committed to staying ahead in compliance with industry standards, ensuring that as businesses and governments evolve, Dentity remains a trusted and secure partner.
Wow, Dentity looks like it's bringing some serious firepower to the digital identity game! 🚀 I love that they're putting consumers first and giving us mere mortals a chance to reclaim our digital souls from the clutches of data-hungry overlords.
The W3C compliance and open standards are a nice touch - it's like they're speaking the universal language of the internet. And verifying 16,000 government documents? That's more paperwork than my last trip to the DMV!
But here's where it gets spicy: integration with 15,000+ financial institutions? That's like having a backstage pass to the world's most boring concert, but in a good way!
A few thoughts to chew on:
1. How does Dentity stack up against heavyweights like Okta or Auth0 in terms of enterprise features?
2. The consumer focus is refreshing, but are there plans to woo more businesses with tailored offerings?
3. With all that verification power, how about a feature to prove I'm not just three kids in a trenchcoat?
Overall, Dentity seems like a solid contender in the identity arena. It's like the Swiss Army knife of digital ID - versatile, reliable, and hopefully won't get confiscated at airport security.
Keep up the great work, Dentity team! Just remember, with great power comes great responsibility... and probably a lot of password reset requests. 😉
@nikhilpareek Hey Nikhil. Thank you so much for the thoughtful questions.
1. We don’t view ourselves as competitors of the large Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms, rather we work alongside the specifications that they create for presenting, confirming, and securing identity information. We have an approved enterprise connection in the Auth0 marketplace that allows enterprises that use Auth0 or Okta to adopt Verifiable Credentials and Verifiable Presentations. We are also believers in OpenID Connect (OIDC).
2. We are always innovating and adding offerings to our enterprise portal (dentity.com/business) to make it easier for enterprises to adopt this new standard of digital identity in their ecosystem. Additionally, we have positioned ourselves to integrate the best-in-class ID-Tech when we see it out there, making sure that businesses are getting the best technology while gaining the benefits of a verifiable credential ecosystem.
3. We have a variety of verification methods that span across various levels of compliance (Visual ID Verification, AML, NIST 800-63-3). These verifications relate to the best-in-class IAL2 standards for remote identity proofing, making sure that the individual claiming an identity on a government-issued document is present in the verification. We are constantly adding new verification methods, and will soon be launching some exciting stuff in the realm of uniqueness, personhood, and more!
Congratulations on the launch! This is an interesting solution. We will try to discuss with the team the integration of dentity with our platform.
