I’m impressed by the integration with so many global institutions and the compliance with open identity standards. How does Dentity handle data privacy and security, especially when verifying documents from such a wide range of sources?

@devindsgbyq @devindsgbyq Hey Devin! Verifiable Credentials are at the core of every user’s sensitive data. Any result from a sensitive event, E.g. a user going through a KYC workflow, is promptly discarded soon after Dentity issues the user a KYC Verifiable Credential. The user owns the credentials which can only be unlocked by them after they authenticate to the system. Dentity also leverages advanced data encryption and best-in-class security mechanisms. As the industry evolves, we always ensure we are steps ahead in compliance with the latest and greatest security out there.

@atharva_b Hey Atharva! Access to someone’s location is only done through the Location Services offered by the underlying Operating System. The Dentity app would need full consent from the user and thus we make it always optional.

We manage this by using Verifiable Credentials, meaning that once a user completes a verification process, like KYC, the sensitive data is discarded after the credential is issued. This ensures that users fully own and control their credentials, which can only be accessed by them after authentication. We also have a variety of verification methods that span across various levels of compliance, including Visual ID Verification, AML, and NIST 800-63-3. These verifications adhere to best-in-class IAL2 standards for remote identity proofing, ensuring that the individual claiming an identity on a government-issued document is actually present during verification. We’re constantly expanding our verification methods, and we’re excited to soon launch new features around uniqueness, personhood, and more! As for integrating with existing identity systems, Dentity is designed to complement and enhance these systems. We use advanced data encryption and top-tier security mechanisms to ensure that our credentials can be seamlessly integrated while maintaining the highest standards of privacy and security.
