DearFile is the private file your family needs to find. People, account details, wishes, a note. No passwords, no credentials. Just the map: enough to know where to look and who to call. Simple enough to finish in an afternoon. Private by default. I built this after losing my dad. I hope you never need it.

I hope you live a long life and your family never has to go looking for anything. I hope your accounts are never a mystery, your wishes never a guess, your last words to the people you love never unspoken.
But if something happens tomorrow, I want your family to find everything in one place. Not in a shoebox. Not on a post-it. Not in three months of searching while their hearts are breaking.
My dad was the best kind of person. The one you call when everything falls apart. He just never got around to writing it down. None of us do, until it's too late.
I built DearFile so the people you love don't spend those three months searching. One private place for everything they need to find.

This is the product our family needed when we lost uncle.
My uncle passed unexpectedly and all of us spent weeks just trying to figure out who his insurance was with. Nobody knew. We found a policy number on a piece of paper in a drawer six months later.
Something like DearFile would have changed those first weeks completely. Not just practically. Emotionally. Every hour we spent searching was an hour we weren't just grieving.
