Founder here. I built DataBackfill during my own GA4 migration struggle. While helping clients move from Universal Analytics to GA4, I kept hitting the same wall - getting historical data into BigQuery was a massive pain. After writing the same scripts over and over (and dealing with endless API timeouts 😅), I thought "there has to be a better way." So I built one! DataBackfill started as a simple tool for my own use, but after sharing it with other analysts and seeing their reaction, I realized this was a problem a lot of people were facing. We're launching today with both a free tier and a pro version. The free tier lets you sync from one GA4 property and access 60 days of historical data. For teams needing more, the pro version removes these limits and adds priority support. I would love hear your thoughts! Also, big shoutout to my early users who helped shape this product. Your feedback has been invaluable! 🙏 Let's chat in the comments

Interesting timing since I've been hearing so many people struggle with their GA4 migration. In this AI era, your first-party data is gold for standing out, and this tool could help unlock that. Might check out their free tier! 🤔

@gabriella_querales Thank you Gabriella! Yes you should definitely try the free tier. Please let me know if you need any assistance.

@saritta_hines how far back DataBackfill goes back?
Saritta Hines
@gabriella_querales The data retention in GA4 depends on your account settings: 1. Standard GA4 Accounts: Event data can be retained for 2 months (default) or up to 14 months, depending on your settings. 2. GA4 360 Accounts: Retention can extend up to 50 months for certain data streams.

Congratulations, @saritta_hines! DataBackfill is a timely and essential solution for anyone navigating the GA4 transition. The free option is a fantastic way to get a taste of its capabilities. Are there any plans to expand the features or add more data sources in the near future?
Saritta Hines
@renchu_song Thanks for the comment—I really appreciate it. The free option is definitely meant to give users a chance to see what DataBackfill can do without a big commitment upfront and no credit card required taboot! We’re already planning to add Snowflake as a data destination soon, which I think will open up a lot of possibilities for users. Along with that, Amazon Redshift is on the roadmap as another key integration. If there’s anything specific you’d like to see added, let me know—I’d love to hear your thoughts.
