Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm Melvin, and since early this year I've been building Daily Simmer.
What sparked me to start was AI chat apps. I love firing off ideas and tweaking recipes with them, but it became hard to keep track. I'd end up with a few versions of the same recipe in one chat, and the rest of my recipes were scattered across saved posts and screenshots. When I wanted to cook one, I couldn't find it. Editing one meant yet another message in a long thread.
I wanted that chat experience, but with a really nice library. Over the months I added recipe imports, the meal planner, shopping lists and a lot of small details. Today you can:
Save from anywhere: paste a link from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook or any recipe site and get a clean recipe with ingredients, steps and servings, credited to the source.
Make it yours: tell Simmer once what you avoid and how you eat. On any recipe that doesn't fit, it suggests the fix, like "make it without dairy", and you review every change before it saves.
Plan, shop and cook: plan the week and see it in your calendar, shop from one list, and cook several dishes at once with timers that start from the step.
Cook together: share a recipe or a whole collection with anyone, or bring your household into one Family on a paid plan.
I really love spending time on the small details and adding a bit of delight. That's been my aim from the start, and it will stay that way. My family and I share a collection and it's been a lot of fun adding to it and cooking from it!
It's free to start in any browser, no card needed. If you try Plus, code PRODUCTHUNT gives you 50% off the monthly plan for 3 months, until 7 November.
I'd love to know where your recipes live right now. And if a link doesn't import well, paste it here and I'll look at it.
Melvin
I could imagine this also as the additional tool for people into fitness and healthy eating :)
@busmark_w_nika Thanks Nika, you're the first comment! Healthy eating is an important factor for me. It’s possible to set goals like high protein or lighter meals in your food profile (or “more vegetables”), and when you save a recipe you can ask Simmer to adjust it, e.g. "more protein, less sugar", and approve the change before it saves. Batch meal prep is in there too. We don't do calorie or macro tracking at the moment, though I have an exploration in the works. Would that be a must-have for you, or is "healthier versions of recipes I already like" enough?
