Share documents safely with CVOR. Add recipient-specific watermarks to PDFs & images - all processed locally with PDF tools to manage files easily.

I was tired of seeing our personal data treated like rubbish - used and then discarded without any care. When personal data is discarded irresponsibly, it can wreak havoc in people’s lives. But beyond preventing harm, I simply didn’t want my sensitive files ending up in the hands of people I never shared them with, just like how we wouldn’t want someone random taking our private photos without consent.
I wanted to flip the institutionalised lack of care for our data and use technology to give me control, even after I’ve shared it.
Just like renting a house comes with a contract and safeguards, I wish for similar protections when sharing important documents. Of course, I can’t sign a legal contract every time I send my ID or passport scan, so I figured out a way to enforce a behavioural contract: Recipient-oriented watermarking - embedding exactly who the file is for, its purpose, and a timestamp directly into the document itself. It’s based on a simple yet powerful idea from Deterrence Theory: people are less likely to do something wrong if they know they’ll get caught.
The idea came from a childhood memory. My dad used to cross out documents when taking me to the bank, saying they became useless to anyone else but the bank. That simple, thoughtful safeguard inspired me!
After many sleepless nights and learning everything I could, CVOR was born.
Now, every document I share carries accountability - making misuse traceable and keeping me in control. And it all happens locally, on my device. No cloud uploads, no account and none of those pesky ads.
I originally found this app suggested on a subreddit on renter applications..I was intrigued and looked further into it. Seems like an interesting take on watermarking. Albeit, I am keen to hear more on how is the app defeating watermark removers?
@v_s29 Hi there, thanks for your comment.
Watermark removers are a real challenge, and we are building CVOR with that in mind. A few things worth noting:
Resilience against removal tools: CVOR doesn’t just stamp simple text watermarks. The app applies multiple techniques that make removal far more difficult. I won’t spell them all out here for obvious reasons, but if you try the app, you’ll notice the difference compared to generic watermarking tools.
Invisible watermarks (in progress): No method is bulletproof, so we’re also working on invisible watermarking. These don’t deter misuse up front, but they allow a leaked file to be traced back to the recipient if needed.
Bigger vision: Watermarking is just the first step. The real goal is to move document sharing into an era where you don’t send copies of sensitive files at all, instead, you prove or verify your credentials (identity, financial status, education, etc.) directly.”**
