What do you think? …

Free hugs on-demand, because why not
Jonathan Howard
@bramk They say the best hugs are the ones you demand.

"..there's definitely an under-explored time and a place for a more gentle, no-pressure intimacy, and that's what Cuddlr aims to help with. " Well put. I'm actually pretty curious about this. Feels like it'd catch on if there were a bit of word of mouth (IE: my friend used it, met someone cool). If it's acceptable to discuss Tinder exploits IRL, why not something like this? Cool concept. Could get weird, but so could any encounter.
Everette Taylor
@stttories Could get really weird. But I guess that's with anything that involves meeting a stranger.
Tori Bunte
@everette very true. cool shit happens when you step out of your comfort zone. :)

Charlie Williams on the Dev team (see the site) looks to be a happy user of his own product.

Cuddling is quite big in Japan, so strange and seems for quite lonely people.

I can't quite yet tell whether it's the humor/shock value that is driving the initial downloads (#177 in the app store in the U.S. as of writing this) or if this is something that people really want but it will be fun to watch as it progresses.
Jonathan Howard
Agreed @abiekatz. I know "Cuddle Parties" in the US got a lot of press a couple years ago, so it's possible: http://www.cuddleparty.com/ Feels like a Tinder-style app would be missing a seemingly-key part: an organizer (and other participants) making sure no funny business happens. Reviews and bans don't seem like they'd be enough for trust, since they're all after-the-fact...
