When a client ghosts your invoice, upload it to Credote. It instantly lowers their business credit score and adds the default to their public credit report. They have 30 days to pay and clear it. If not, it stays on their public record permanently.

We built Credote because freelancers and small businesses deserve real leverage when clients don’t pay.
After spending over a decade chasing unpaid invoices, many for just a few hundred bucks that weren’t worth a lawyer, I realized the real issue:
Clients could ghost you and still keep building their business with zero consequence.
That changes today.
Credote is a public business credit bureau.
If a client doesn’t pay, you can upload the invoice, and it instantly impacts their public credit profile and score.
✅ 100% free to use
✅ Works globally
✅ Searchable by name, domain, or email
✅ If they pay within 30 days, the report is removed
✅ If they don’t, the default stays on their record permanently
It’s searchable, indexable by Google, and gives small businesses the kind of accountability only banks used to have.
We’re proud of how simple it is:
⚡ 2 minutes to file
⚡ No legal threat needed
⚡ Just real, public consequences
We’d love your feedback, especially from freelancers, agencies, SaaS vendors, and service businesses.
And if you’ve ever lost money to a ghost client, Credote is for you.
Let us know what you think!

I think the name could be improved (it seems a little difficult to say), but the concept is great.
I love that Credote is using a proven method (implementing a type of "credit score" for businesses) to solve a real issue, and providing smaller freelancers and business owners with a voice as well as a way to fight back against unpaid invoices. It's also nice that you've made it free to upload, but I think you should charge a fee to help freelancers settle so you can make this into a sustainable business. ☺️
Congrats on the launch, excited to see where you take Credote from here! 🚀
@smjburton thanks so much, yeah i am 50:50 on the name, but seemed strong enough for now, have the same reservations as you.
For monetization we let debtors pay the overdue invoices directly thru Credote so the payments are applied instantly, and we take a % of the payment then. So makes us very aligned with our customers and gives us a great revenue model, whilst keeping core functions free.

@domm Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking re: monetization. Nice work!

Absolutely game changer for our outstanding overdue invoices. Finally it gives us back a little bit of control. Great product!

@addio Thanks Adam, that’s exactly why we built it. Empower the little guy with some leverage back. Let us know if you want to be part of the early access group for new features we’re rolling out soon. 👊

@hiyan_raiyab We asked the same thing. The reality is: only banks and big lenders have had the power to report defaults, until now.
There’s never been a public credit bureau built for freelancers, contractors, or small businesses. We built Credote to change that.

A *great idea that will be pretty tough to execute on. Need significant scale to be relevant to enough owners. Chicken or egg a bit in that sense. Whether through partnership or direct, some type of collections component will be needed and/or expected. I’d like to see a way to auto-post to BBB etc for this to carry more weight as Credote isn’t a household name (at least for awhile). Overall, I will follow along and test.

@stephen_olmon Thanks Stephen, great points. On the “chicken or egg” issue, we’ve found it’s not as much of a catch-22 as it seems.
As soon as a single unpaid invoice is uploaded for a business, it creates a live public credit file, instantly indexed on Google and visible to lenders, vendors, and future clients.
That alone is often enough to trigger a response. We notify the debtor immediately, and follow up with escalating reminders, so the visibility pressure is real and immediate.
No need to wait for Credote to be a household name, reporters get leverage instantly because the listing is public and permanent unless resolved.
On your BBB idea: love that direction. We're exploring integrations (including optional escalation pathways) to extend reach even further.
Would love to keep you in the loop as we roll out the API + sync features.

This is so needed. Thoughts on eventually creating a revenue stream with business lenders or M&A teams who will want to pay Credote to see the score of a business? Investors & analysts who might want to see the data as intel re: health of a business?
