Cotoami is a desktop note-taking app with a built-in map. It makes input as easy as chatting, while enabling knowledge to grow from simple notes into structured, book-like content or vast networks of interconnected databases shared by many users.

Hello!
Cotoami is a personal knowledge base system that focuses on the question of how we grow knowledge. It brings in concepts you don't usually see in other knowledge base systems, like looking at information from two perspectives, flow and stock:
treating each piece of information (Coto) and the space that holds it (Cotonoma) as one and the same,
and even working with the idea of place.
Cotoami's core concept is to make inputting information as effortless as possible, almost like chatting, while aiming for the resulting knowledge to grow into something as grand as possible, ranging from structured, book-like knowledge to vast networks of interconnected databases owned by multiple users.
Cotoami originally started out as a web application (https://cotoami.app/cotoami-an-e...), but I decided to rebuild it from scratch as a local-first desktop app so that individuals can use it more easily and keep using it for a long time (https://cotoami.app/cotoami-rema...). I'd love for you to try it out and share your thoughts.
If you want a quick idea of what this software is about, take a look at the Getting Started guide and try it out for yourself. This document walks you through the basics of how to use Cotoami, explains its core concepts, and introduces some of the unique approaches Cotoami offers for discovering knowledge.
